I haven't seen a really good movie in a long time. It is a rare treat for me and the missus to get out nowadays. Since she is in Sweden visiting her parents, I am left to my own devices. I decided to see a movie last night and was not disappointed.
I was pleasantly surprised when I went to see "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy." Very nice movie with some wonderful scenery and special effects. Several critics have panned it in one fashion or another. Most of what I read mentioned that the movie had little to do with the true spirit of the book by the same title. I wouldn't know. I have not read the book yet, but I will be picking up a copy today. My experience has always been to read the book and view the movie later. I always enjoy seeing how a director will use his/her artistic influence to make a book come to life on the screen.
I normally don't care about what critics say when movies premiere. If I like something, I will go and see it. I am just there to see a good story on the screen. Psychoanalyzing and nitpicking all the faults of a movie is rather ridiculous. Go see for yourself and have a good time.
And by the way....."Thanks for all the fish."

I'm a fan of the books, I've read them more than once.
And I have to say that I thought the movie went with the spirit of the books, as well as incorporating a large number of the little jokes from the books.
I enjoyed the movie immensely.
