So, I heard back from my recruiter yesterday. Wanna know what she told me?
She recapped a conversation she had with the HR director at this bank. They have one more interview with an internal candidate before they make a decision. As it was told to me, this is nothing more than a formality. Recruiter lady heard from HR lady AAANNNDDDD the dude I interviewed with on Monday that I am number one with a bullet.
I like the sound of that. Things really are starting to pick up and go my way. Now, if it all holds together, I get to tell dad the good/bad news. If this job goes through, I don't get to go on our annual pheasant hunt in South Dakota. At this stage of the game, I will be extremely happy if I get to make the call and tell dad no. Of course, there is the 'win/win-lose/lose' aspect of it. If I get the job, no hunting....on the flip side, if I don't get the job, I get to spend a week (expenses paid) chasing birds through cornfields with a 12ga. shottie. Can't go wrong either way.
If you hear a really loud 'wahoo' coming from the vicinity of Houston sometime early next week, just assume I got the job.

Fingers crossed for ya, Shooter.
BTW, Babs and I will be in Houston next month at the Texas EMS Conference.
Maybe we can hoist a brew or three.
Let me know when and where and we can hook up.
I have my fingers crossed
